Upcoming Highlights Include:

Going Deeper

Wednesdays, we are “Going Deeper” in God through a Bible Study with Pastor Kevin.  The evening will begin with a family meal of Chicken Soup (sandwiches, salads and desserts welcome; donations accepted) at 6pm followed by the Bible Study for adults from 6:30 to 7:30.  There is King’s Kids for children Pre-K to 5th grade and the nursery will be available upon request.

The WELL Workout

Dawn Miles of Everyday Faith & Fitness would like   to invite you to join her Tuesdays March 20 at 7:15pm when The WELL Workout Resumes, Worship and Exercise for Loving Life in the Family Life Center.  The class will include worship, the Word, and a workout! Bring a mat if you have one (but not required!), comfortable clothes, and an open heart.

Need some help?  Spring cleaning?  Organizing?  Gardening? or Babysitting? In an effort to help with Snowbird costs this summer, the youth are ready to serve you in any capacity you need.  Stay after church on March 18th for lunch and a fun filled family time where we will be auctioning our youth to church family who would like extra hands and lots of energy.  Check out the insert.

Open Basketball

Mondays 7-9pm there will be open basketball for middle school and up in the FLC. Come and get some exercise or just cheer the player on!

Candy for the Children

As our Resurrection Celebration approaches (March 25th), we will need lots of candy for the egg hunt. So we are asking you to please bring bags of small, egg size candy and drop them in the basket in the lobby.

The Hunt is ON

The hunt is on at our Family Scavenger Hunt Resurrection Celebration, Sunday, March 25th from 5 to 7pm. Each family will have the opportunity to discover the truth about the Resurrection story through the use of their Bible, their phones and family discussion.  The evening will begin with a hotdog supper followed by a time for family groups to experience the “Hunt” and then there will be an all-out egg hunt for ages 0 to 12.  Mark your calendars and join us in this fun filled family event.


We are forming our planning committee for VBS!  We NEED your input, commitment, and creative ideas. This year’s VBS will be JUNE 25-29th.  Our theme is SUPERHEROES of FAITH!  Our first planning session will be Friday, March 23rd at 1:30PM.  Please see Sonja Davis or Mary Clapp if you are interested in being a part of the PAR-TAY!

 Stix and Stones

From the creators of “The Lost Shepherd”, Central Triad Church is presenting “Stix and Stones – The Sacrifice of Christ – The Apostles’ Journey – The Church Triumph.” Lizette Felde is leading a group to see this play on Saturday, March 31st at 12:00.  She has limited tickets for $13 each.  Please see her if you are interested in seeing this drama.

Celebrate Jesus

Palm Sunday, March 25th is a celebration of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem.  We will have palm leaves to help us remember and to use in worshiping God on that day, as well as the Resurrection Celebration family event in the evening. Thursday, March 29th at 6:00pm is a “Supper & Seder” for you to enjoy a delicious meal, experience a Seder and communion. A suggested donation of $10 for adults and $5 for children will be accepted.  Good Friday, March 30th at 7pm we will have a contemplative worship service around the seven last words of Jesus from the cross.  And then it is Resurrection Day!!  We will begin Sunday, April 1st with a breakfast potluck at 9am.  Bring your favorite breakfast food to share.  We will have a time of fellowship during the Sunday School hour and then prepare for morning Worship at 10am.  Come join us as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ and His call to us to a total reliance on God through the gift of His Son. There will be no Sunday School or Children’s Church on Resurrection Sunday.

Red Cross Blood Drive

The Red Cross will do a blood drive here at Cornerstone Friday, April 6th from 2 to 6:30pm.  You can go online and pick the best time for you to give at: enter our zip code (27028), click on Cornerstone Christian Church.

New Canaan Society of Davie Co.

All men are invited to come to the Davie County New Canaan Society meeting this Wednesday at Captain Galley Restaurant at 7am.  This is a Christian fellowship for men where men share their personal testimony and prayer.  For more information, see Chuck Bradford.
