Christmas for the City

Christmas for the City is a multi-church effort to create a meaningful Christmas experience for the whole community.  The biggest need is simple: people who love people. This year the party is Dec. 20th from 4-9pm at the Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem.  We are joining many volunteers to serve the between 10 – 12,000 people who will attend this outreach.  See Chuck or Linda Bradford to help.  We Need You!

Chicken Pies

The SonShine Servants’ deep dish chicken pies are now available for pickup at $12 each.  Ask any SonShine Girl and they can point you in the right direction.

New Canaan Society of Davie

All men are invited to come to the Davie County New Canaan Society meeting this Thursday at Captain Galley Restaurant at 7am.  This is a Christian fellowship for men where men share their personal testimony and prayer.   For more information, see Chuck Bradford.

Monthly Mission Moment

This month we are focusing on Family Promise of Davie County. They exist to make sure children and their families have a safe place to sleep at night. Their core program is the Interfaith Hospitality Network, which is made up of various volunteers and faith groups across the county.  Once families apply and have been accepted into the program, they stay at a host congregation for one week at a time before moving to the next church.  Volunteers provide families with hospitality and meals.  Cornerstone is one of the host churches and will be hosting families December 16-22 this month. We have several opportunities to serve the homeless families currently enrolled in the program – set up, breakdown, meal prep and evening or overnight hosting – a way for everyone to participate!  Anyone who has a heart open to loving on these families should contact Janet Perrell (perrelljan@aol.com).
